John Muir Trail - Day 7 - Kearsarge Lakes to Independence

Today we headed to the Onion Valley Trailhead via Kearsarge Pass to get our resupply at a hotel in Independence.

Getting up to the pass was pretty easy as we were so high already. But coming down? Oh my, 6.5 miles of switchbacks and decent that we have to repeat tomorrow, only up! It shook me a bit, I was not convinced I could do it.

At the trailhead, we were picked up by the owner of the motel and he drove us down. In town we did laundry, ate lunch and dinner, showered, called family, and got our resupplies ready for the next day.
