Ennerdale Bridge to Haystacks - Lake District National Park

We decided to take the high route and attempt to camp on Innominate Tarn at the top of Haystacks.

We started out walking around Ennerdale Water on the harder south side. Then walked up and over Red Pike, High Stile towards Haystacks. The hike up Red Pike is very steep and not much of a path. The views at the top are great back towards Ennerdale. However, it was pretty windy and misty. This made the walk along pretty tough.

Walking down High Stile was like an unending set of stairs. It took so long that the sun was starting to set, so we camped in the saddle between High Stile and Haystacks.

The moon was out and it was a lovely evening.
