Travel Walking 13.52 km, 5:21 hours, 472 meters up, 294 meters down

Today we started the four day Inka Trail from Piscacucho to Huayllabamba. It is an early start and a long drive. We had to go to Pisac to collect the other two hikers on our trip. They were a couple from NYC, living very close to John and Dee.

The first day is fairly easy as you start a bit later. It is only 13 km with 472 meters of elevation.

There was one Inka ruin to explore and great views.

We got to know the other couple in our group a bit and our guide, cook and porters. Also experience what it is like to have all your food, clothing, tents, etc, hauled by porters up the mountains. And have a guide to lead you along a very obvious trail. A strange feeling.
