John Muir Trail - Day 17 - VVR to just over Silver Pass

Stayed Camp past Silver Pass
Travel Walking 18.65 km, 6:37 hours,

VVR’s boat ferry is first come, first served, so we only could leave at 9:30am and 10:15am. This meant we could have breakfast there. It was great. Total bill - $357. Worth it.

We took the boat from VVR as far as we could up Lake Edison, as the lake level allowed. The ongoing drought means it is down 30 feet we had to walk 3/4 of a mile on the dry lake bed to the start of the path.

We then climbed 3,000 feet over Silver Pass.

Now we are at a nice spot down in the Valley.
