USA - California - Mammouth - Day 35

Today we visited the Minarets Vista and an earthquake fault in Mammoth. Be most of the day was spent planning alternative routes to start the JMT as we got confirmation that the road to our trailhead (Cottonwood Lakes Trailhead) will not be open in time and our permit will become invalid.

We purchased a a few more permits to maximise the chance we get on the trail.

But it’s expensive and stressful.
