Concert: Jerron Paxton with Martin Harley

lead image

Tonight we headed to Islington’s Union Chapel to see Jerron Paxton and Martin Harley.

We arrived early for the dinner upstairs. It supports a community training programme at the church and the food is always pretty good. The room is nice with a big bar and the people who you share the table with are usually interesting and nice. Tonight it was a British/Canadian couple who had seen Martin Harley before and loved him.

We had seen Martin open for Keb Mo years ago and he was great again. He mostly plays a slide guitar and his own blues numbers.

Jerron was good as well. He played guitar, harmonica, piano and two types of banjo. Personally I like the songs that he sings. But he sounds like he is out of the 1930’s.

Fun night.
