Today we tried to drive to Okama Crater up a crazy mountain road, but about 3km before, the road was closed. So we backtracked and drove to Yamadera to see the Risshakuji Temple up 1000 steps. Before we got there we saw a load of silk carp flags over a river and stopped to see the festival. I ended up on the local news, in English with no subtitles. The shrine was pretty cool, but a few viewpoints were closed. Afterwards we drove to Sendai and walked up to the castle ruins and then a cocktail bar and grill your our wagyu and tongue (a regional specialty) place. Another fun day.
