Wales - Snowdonia - Day 1

lead image

We decided we needed to get away, so we booked a week in Llanberis at a lovely cottage. For the weekend, Ann & Paul agreed to come out. We didn’t have the best weather, but we got out hiking or doing something everyday.

As it was the end of covid, we also brought a bunch of meals from Cook to stay in a bit. But we did hit the local cafes, pubs and pizza places a bit. It turned out that Angela and I did get covid somewhere here. Damn.

Today we did the tough but rewarding Glyder Fawr Circular. It was about 10km.

You start going up the Devil’s Chimney and that might be the easiest bit. The path from this point is the hardest scramble I have ever done, until the way down. The peak is all tough, sharp rocks, hard to move around. Then down is just the stepest ravine ever.
