Bryness to Auchope Rigg Cabin
Today we left after a nice breakfast and climbed up to the Cheviots. On the way we spoke to a local sheep farmer about how this rights to graze worked and how little money was to be made. We walked for hours up and down rolling hills with very little in the way of water.
Except for bogs, we had more bogs.
We stopped for lunch at the first of two refuge huts, Yearning Saddle and spoke to a woman walking her dogs for a while. She was complaining that many of the paths were so little used that they were falling into disrepair.
We even ran into some snow still on the hills.
We finally made it to the second cabin, Auchope Rigg Cabin, that we used as a windbreak. The Army group that we were walking with stayed in the cabin. Apparently they were plaqued by mice all night.
We were rewarded with a great sunset, but the night was windy and rainy.
